1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Audiu mobile application or related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Use of the Service
You may use Audiu only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the Service in ways that could harm the platform, other users, or violate applicable laws.
3. Accounts & Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account with the following requirements:
- Account Creation: You may register using email/password or Google Sign-In
- Account Linking: You can securely link multiple authentication methods (e.g., Google, email/password) to a single account using OTP verification for flexible login options
- Required Information: Name, email, age, and country are mandatory
- Profile Completion: All users (including those using Google Sign-In) must complete their profile with age and country information via the Complete Profile screen before accessing the app
- Single Entry: Profile information (age, country) is collected once during initial registration and cannot be edited in-app (contact us if you need to update); edit profile feature was intentionally removed as all required information is collected during initial setup
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and OTP verification codes
- Account Activity: You are responsible for all activities under your account
- Accurate Information: You must provide truthful and complete information during registration
- Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time via the in-app "Delete Account" option in Settings, which will immediately and permanently remove all your data
- Automatic Cleanup: Accounts that have been inactive for 2 years or more are automatically deleted to comply with GDPR data minimization requirements
4. Age Requirements & Regional Verification
To comply with international children's privacy laws (including COPPA, GDPR, and other regional regulations), Audiu implements country-specific age verification:
Regional Age Requirements
- European Union (GDPR): Age requirements vary by Member State (13-16 years):
- 13 years: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Sweden, United Kingdom
- 14 years: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Italy, Lithuania, Spain
- 15 years: Czech Republic, France, Greece
- 16 years: Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia
- United States, Canada, Australia: 13 years (COPPA and similar regulations)
- Other Countries: Generally 13-14 years based on local privacy laws
Verification Process
- Mandatory Profile Completion: All users (including Google Sign-In) must complete the Complete Profile screen with age and country information before accessing the app
- Country-Based Validation: The minimum age requirement is automatically determined based on your selected country during the Complete Profile screen
- Age Declaration: Users must declare their birth year or confirm they meet the country-specific minimum age requirement
- Comprehensive Verification: The app includes age-gating measures designed to prevent registration by users below the required age for their country
- Single Collection Point: Age and country are collected once during initial login/registration and cannot be edited in-app; contact us if you need to update this information
- Access Control: App access is blocked until profile completion is finished, ensuring all users provide required age and country information
- Ongoing Compliance: We regularly update our verification systems to maintain compliance with evolving regional regulations
Compliance & Enforcement
- Automatic Enforcement: If we become aware of an account holder below the required age for their country, we will promptly suspend the account and delete associated personal information
- Parental Rights: Parents or legal guardians may contact us regarding their child's account or data in any jurisdiction
- Regional Compliance: Our policies and procedures are designed to meet the highest standards across all jurisdictions where we operate
5. Content & Intellectual Property
- All audio stories, text, images, and other media available on Audiu are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
- You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without authorization.
- Personal features such as watch history, favorites, and listen later queue are provided for your personal use only.
- Offline downloads (when available) are for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be shared or distributed.
- The Service does not currently support user-submitted content such as reactions or comments.
6. User Responsibilities & Restrictions
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service.
- Do not attempt to circumvent country-specific age verification, OTP verification, or other security measures.
- Do not use automated systems or bots to access the Service.
- Do not share your account credentials, OTP codes, or authentication tokens with others.
- Do not abuse the account linking feature by attempting unauthorized account linking or OTP code manipulation.
7. Termination
By You
- In-App Deletion: You may delete your account at any time via Settings → "Delete Account"
- Immediate Effect: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- Data Removal: All your data (watch history, favorites, listen later queue, account details) will be immediately and permanently deleted from our servers
- Local Data: To fully remove all data, uninstall the app after account deletion
By Us
- Violation of Terms: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in harmful conduct
- Automatic Deletion: Accounts inactive for 2+ years are automatically deleted to comply with GDPR data minimization requirements
- Notice: We will attempt to provide notice before termination when possible (except in cases of immediate security concerns)
8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Audiu is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rudnex (the individual developer) disclaims all warranties and is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new Terms.
11. About the Developer
This Service is developed and maintained by an individual developer under the name Rudnex. While not a registered company, Rudnex operates this app and its website to provide audio story streaming services with transparency and respect for user rights.
